Pumela Salela (UK Country Head @Brand South Africa)
Pumela’s role is to market South Africa in the UK, attract foreign direct investment into South Africa, mobilise South Africans abroad and to manage the brand reputation of South Africa.
Prior to this, Pumela was the Chief Director for Economic Policy, Development and Planning at the Department of Economic Development in South Africa.
The Rockefeller Foundation acknowledged her contribution and innovation in formulating systems which address poverty by selecting Salela to be one of the recipients of their inaugural Global Fellowship on Social Innovation. She has also worked as Consultant to the World Bank, Deputy Director for Investment Promotion and lecturer in Strategic Brand Management.
Pumela completed her MBA with distinction in England through a Nelson Mandela Scholarship. She is now the chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Scholarship Alumni Association and mentor to GracaMachel Scholars.
She has been featured in various magazines, TV and is a recipient of multiple awards.
Bimbola Osagie (Founder @Property Investment Club)
Bimbola is a Professional Property Investor, Developer and Founder of a Property Investment Club; a club that aims to help others build wealth by expanding their Real Estate portfolio.
Bimbola gave up a thriving career as a Market Risk Change Analyst in Financial Services to focus on her passion for properties. She started her investment journey during the height of the recession in 2008. She believes not just in acquiring but also teaching others about real estate.
Her other interests include Podcasting (PropCast, Bestof2Podcast, property training and leading an online prayer group. She lives in Kent, is married with four children whom she refers to as the fantastic four.
Prof Nelson Phillips (Professor of Innovation and Strategy @Imperial College, UK)
Nelson is a Professor of Innovation and Strategy and the Associate Dean of External Relations at Imperial College Business School in London. Prior to joining Imperial in 2005, he was the Beckwith Professor of Management Studies at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School. Originally from Canada, Nelson completed his PhD at the University of Alberta.
Professor Phillips’ research interests cut across strategy, innovation and leadership and he has published widely for both academics and practitioners. He teaches leadership, innovation and digital business on the MBA and EMBA programs at Imperial as well as delivering executive education for a wide range of corporate clients including the London Stock Exchange, Savills, Barclays, ASDA, Panasonic, the NHS and Edwardian Hotels.
