When you think “renewable energy” or “solar panels”, what comes to mind? not much. That’s why Vanessa Awong Eya’a created “Virtual Colleagues”, a TV comedy about a female CEO, fighting to save her solar company from bankruptcy using Zoom during this pandemic. The project was born out of the concept that the transition to renewable energy is slow and foreign. There are no emotional connections. And it was time to change.
Vanessa has been writing for years, before pushing this project to the screens. She is the co-founder of Renewables in Africa, a clean energy consulting company. She sees first hand the lack of emotional engagement from the general public. An unfortunate situation, which slows the electrification of Africa. On top of this, she is also a doctor in the UK. She is ready to uplift the renewable sector with “Virtual Colleagues”.
