The 2022 edition of The Lagos Women Dance is set to hold on March 12, 2022 at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. The fiesta which is in its 3rd year is a carnival-like annual dancing event organized by Jela Projects Ltd in conjunction with Seed Rehabilitation Foundation. The event which brings together women from all walks of life to relieve stress through music, health and fitness dance, health awareness also provides networking opportunity for participating women annually in commemoration of the international women’s day celebration.

In a statement by the convener of The Lagos Women Dance, Angela Tony Iji, said that the initiative is in recognition of the fact that stress is a universal and common challenge to modern women. She said that women working in different sectors and organizations have to deal with stress to prevent decrease in organization/employee overall performance, high error rate, poor quality of work, and absenteeism due to health problems such as anxiety, emotional disorder; work life imbalance; depression and other forms of ailment such as frequent headache; obesity and cardiac arrest. “Research has shown that dance, especially health and fitness dance boost one’s ability to live healthy life as they age. It is in this regard that this event is put together as a yearly programme to provide a platform for women in Lagos to come together to stress out as well as promoting healthy living through dance, fitness and entertainment” she concluded.

She stated that this year’s edition with the theme “Stress Out” (Entertainment meets Health. Dance for Health, Dance for Fun, Dance for Peace, Dance for Leisure) will bring together over one thousand women from all walks of life to participate in health and fitness dance as a way of relieving stress as well as networking among themselves. She said that as usual the event will be covered by many media houses both traditional and social media.


Major highlights of the fiesta include, Dance Competition, Fitness Dance, Dance Drama, Zumba Dance, Dancerapy, Stress Management Talk, Cultural Dance, Indian Dance, Dance Fashpa, Freebies, Raffle Draw, etc.
